Quakes: 2014 IN NUMBERS



2014

December had 10 quakes of M6 or more
November had 12 quakes of M6 or more.

October had 8 quakes of M6 or more the biggest being M7.3 WSW of Jiquilillo, Nicaragua. 
September had 8 quakes of M6 or more.
August had 9 quakes of M6 or more.
July had 18 quakes of M6 or more.
June had 16 quakes of M6 or more.
May had 18 quakes of M6 or more.
April had 26 quakes of M6 or more, the biggest was a magnitude 8.294km NW of Iquique, Chile on the second of April 
March had 17 quakes of M6 or more.
February had 8 quakes of M6 or more.
January had  6 quakes of M6 or more.

  
The biggest quake this year was a magnitude 8.294km NW of Iquique, Chile on the second of April earlier in the year.
2014 surpassed the number of quakes in 2012- 133 and  2013 which registered 143.
2011 had a record 207 quakes of M6 or more, the most in one year ever.
The most large quakes in a month this year by a long long way was April with 26, coincidentally April was also the month of the first blood moon of this Tetrad. January had the least quakes with 6.
April had the most M5 quakes too see below, 75 more than any other month?


Mag 6-69 earthquakes have risen by over 450% since 1900 But anything bigger has remained stable?
