A shallow magnitude 6.7 reduced to a 6.4 by USGS has struck -74km E of Tadine, New Caledonia in the South Pacific.
It's the second major quake this weekend after the mag 6.3 struck China yesterday.
Today's quake is the 11th of November which could well be the busiest month for major quakes this year and is the 97th major quake of a very quiet 2017 as this year promises to be the lowest total of major quakes this century.
