It's astonishing, unthinkable even, but America's mighty military-industrial complex has stuttered and failed again, this time against Iran. Another military failure by the world's so-called superpower. Should we be surprised? Well, I don't think so; I think, however, it should help us to realise what is happening in the World right now, and that is decisions are not being made by humans but by the infamous dark spiritual beings mentioned in Ephesians 6.
Our leaders are, after all, puppets, and Christians are told in the above passages: Put on the full armour of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Maybe it's not surprising, but some Shiite Muslims in Iran actually see President Trump as the Al-Masih ad-Dajjal — literally “the deceitful messiah”—Islam’s supreme figure of evil in the end times. He does not appear in the Quran by name, but Islamic hadith literature — the collected sayings and traditions attributed to Muhammad — describes him in vivid detail. He will appear before the Day of Judgment, claim to be the promised messiah, and ultimately declare himself God. He is described in the hadith as blind in one eye: “The Dajjal is blind in one eye, and his eye looks like a bulging grape” (Sahih al-Bukhari, Book 88, Hadith 245).
Hmmm! A one-eyed man claiming to be the promised messiah and then declaring himself to be God does fit perfectly with the description our own Christian Bible gives of the coming Antichrist (false Christ. Whether or not that man is President Trump, time will only tell.
President Trump, who, with all respect, is not the sharpest leader in the box, actually played into the arms of Iran when he chose to declare war against them? Was plunging the world into a tense pre-World War state Iran's strategy all along, knowing Trump's own xenophobic rhetoric would cloud his decision-making from the beginning? Once again, Trump genuinely thought America's military might was all-powerful and the 'squirmish' would be over in days—six months later, however, Iran appears to be calling the shots as Trump calls off all dialogue with Tehran on this day, 19/8/26.
By the end of last month, rumours were circling around parts of the Muslim world, especially Iran and Pakistan, that the war with America would trigger the return of the Mahdi, the messianic figure of Shia and broader Islamic end-times belief, back to earth to defeat America and anyone else who will stand against Islam.
According to Israel 365, he is known in Islam as the Mahdi and regarded by many Muslims as their own Messiah who will come back at the end of days to wreak havoc, death and destruction, and will be the Islamic version of our own Christian Messiah, Jesus Christ. And could well be on the way to return, lining up with our own expectation of Jesus's second coming, only one winner there, you would think!
There is no direct reference to a messiah in the Koran, but Islam has a strong tradition of Mahdi, a redeemer of Islam who will come as a ruler. The arrival of Mahdi will coincide with the arrival of the Christian messiah, who will be the Mahdi’s assistant in fighting the Masih ad-Dajjal, the false messiah, or anti-Christ. According to the tradition, the Mahdi will reappear along with Jesus, who will declare himself a Muslim, and kill Christians who refuse to convert. That is 'NOT' what we are told!
Mahdi is also seen as a time when everyone will convert to Islam. In the Hadith, quotes from Umm Salama, one of Muhammad’s wives, state that when the Mahdi arrives, non-Muslims will all convert. According to Shia Islam, the Mahdi will be preceded by an era in which two-thirds of the world’s population will die – one-third by plague and one-third by war. The time before the arrival of the Mahdi will also see a great war in Syria and Iraq that will destroy both countries, accompanied by a great fire and “redness in the sky.”
For Sunni Muslims, the Mahdi is the Prophet Muhammad’s successor who is yet to come. For most Shia Muslims, the Mahdi was born but disappeared and will remain hidden from humanity until he reappears to bring justice to the world. As in Judaism and Christianity, there have been Muslim leaders through the ages who have claimed to be the Mahdi, though his arrival is still anticipated.
The Shia Islamic concept of Mahdi includes the resurrection of the dead, especially of their dead imams and leaders, as well as the belief that the Mahdi will conquer Constantinople, which was the capital of the Roman and Byzantine Empires and was instrumental in the rise of Christianity. Constantinople was later conquered and became the capital of the Islamic Ottoman Empire.
We are living in incredible times. Thank You, Father!
