A magnitude 6.6 is the second major quake to strike New Caledonia today: Latest strong quake is less than 10 kilometres west of the earlier one

A shallow mag 6.6 - 67km E of Tadine, New Caledonia is the 2nd major quake in the same area after a mag 6.4 struck 74 kilometres E of Tadine this morning.
There are no reports of casualties.
This afternoons quake is the 12th of November which could well be the busiest month for major quakes this year and is the 98th major quake of a very quiet 2017 as this year promises to be the lowest total of major quakes this century.
