The Pale Horse Is Galloping: All these things are pangs of distress: It is hard to imagine just where we will be in five years! Have we crossed the tipping point?

tipping point
noun [ S or U ]UK /ˈtɪp.ɪŋ ˌɪnt/ US /ˈtɪp.ɪŋ ˌɪnt/

the time at which a change or an effect cannot be stopped
Cambridge Dictionary.

The recent onslaught of deadly heatwaves, unprecedented wildfires, devastating flooding, aberrant cyclones made more destructive by rising seas, crippeling droughts, devastated crops, massive deforestation, record-breaking ice melt on both poles and a 70% decline of wildlife, it is safe to say our planet is stressed out.

All the above could be the least of our problem with many experts claiming our world is heading for a mini-ice-age, however, with 18 of the 19 warmest years on record occurring this century and 2019 set to become the second warmest year ever recorded a mini ice age may seem a little far fetched but many experts have evidence to back this up. Adapt 2030

Add to the climate chaos and species decline and it's not hard to imagine why people around the world have taken to the streets to demonstrate against weak and corrupt governments. The two bastions of democracy, The UK and the U.S. have become the laughing stock of the world. President Trump has become a toe-curling embarrassment to the American people and Parliament's handling of Brexit has been astonishingly inept, absurd and foolish which could well end up with the collapse of Great Britain with Scotland, Wales and Northern Island voting for independence.

Wars and rumours of wars are on the lips of many and with Iran, China, and Russia holding their first-ever joint war drills, tensions are bound to escalate as the rogue nations throw a thinly veiled threat to the U.S. and the West. Full story here

One in five of the world’s population, which now stands at around 7.7 billion, have mental health issues at any given time, suicide deaths are at unprecedented levels with children, soldiers and farmers high on the list. Right now, more than 1 billion people suffer from hunger. This means that 1 in every 6 people on Earth doesn’t get enough food to live a healthy life. This year 36 million of these people will die of hunger, World Facts

Poverty is rife, rough sleepers in the U.S. has exploded recently while economist Edward N. Wolff, Federal Reserve data suggests that the top 1% of American households claim more wealth than the entire bottom 90% of households combined. Half a billion projected to live in extreme poverty in 2030.

With a massive increase in lawlessness, especially in the West and all the above set to escalate in 2020, it is hard to imagine just where we will be in five years time. The snowball is rolling down a mountain and nothing is standing in its way, whatever happens, we are living in very exciting times.
