The Big Wobble : The Day The Earth Turned "DAYGLOW!" A Catalogue of Missed End Time Prophecies

Our planet’s vital signs are flashing red.
7 out of 9 Planetary Boundaries are breached. We have to act now. (I think we may be a tad late for that, don't you?)

I want to bring your attention to something Jesus warned all of us about in Luke 21:10,11.

There will be great earthquakes, famines, and pestilences in various places, along with fearful sights and great signs from heaven.

These events all occurred in the same year and are never mentioned by the Church or anyone else, for that matter! That year was incredible in the history of mankind; that year was the beginning of the Space Race—1957.

"Never play with God!"

We've messed with the God Particle—we played the wrong instrument and attracted the exact wrong kind of attention.

My views on Climate Change are not political. I am neither left-wing nor right-wing in my beliefs; however, I have been documenting the weather since 2008 on my various blogs, The Big Wobble, and I believe our climate is warming and extreme weather is increasing, and wait for it . . . We were clearly warned about this in the late 50s, early 60s, and we did nothing except pour more petrol onto the climate change flames; more on this later.

Whether it's divine punishment or a man-made catastrophe, I can't say—WHO CAN? Whatever or whoever caused it doesn't matter anymore; we have reached a point in our 'so-called evolution' where we don't even know whether our society is collapsing faster than our environment, or vice versa. We are, however, on the verge of another World War; our animal species are dying off at an unsustainable rate, as are crops and vegetation, and if the planet keeps warming at its present rate, it will be uninhabitable by the year 2040.

In the first two chapters, I asked the question of whether the Tunguska Event was the moment Satan was thrown from Heaven and also asked whether it was the release of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. You wouldn't expect him to arrive unannounced, would you!

Now, let's jump forward fifty years—Could 1957 have been the sudden, measurable onset of irreversible Global Warming (Climate Change)? There is a ton of official data, but, what is it really saying? And was there a divine nudge from God pushing our planet over an invisible red line which we could never step back from? I don't think God would allow us to destroy His planet—A new Heaven and Earth, in my mind, would be His decision, not ours.

Before you start shouting I'm crazy, let me show you some very official graphs pointing to exactly 1957. NASA has unwittingly, I believe, provided a graph which actually confirms global warming began not only in 1957 but on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day 1957. (see the NASA graph below).

(I have added my comments in red ink and brackets).

NASA's explanation: The above graph compares global surface temperature changes (red line) and the Sun's energy received by Earth (yellow line) in watts (units of energy) per square meter since 1880. Below, I have the same data taken from two specialised graphs from NASA and NOAA showing the exact individual data.

(Solar Activity, Sunspots).

The lighter/thinner lines show the yearly levels, while the heavier/thicker lines show the 11-year average trends

(eleven years = one solar cycle).

Eleven-year averages are used to reduce the year-to-year natural noise in the data, making the underlying trends more obvious. The amount of solar energy Earth receives has followed the Sun’s natural 11-year cycle of small ups and downs with no net increase since the 1950s. Below is the actual data from NOAA.

(From 1880, the red line, 'temperature' thin and thick, has more or less followed the yellow line, 'solar activity' thin and thick, until a large 'spike' in the thin yellow line, the year level— the line of this spike is actually Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, 1957).

(Are NASA telling us the whole story? Remember, since its formation in 1958 they have been calling UFO enthusiasts "conspiracy theorists!" Now we are told UFOs are real . . . You see, it is because of the Sun that the so-called observed global temperature rose so exponentially on the two festive days in 1957. Something

unprecedented happened, and it shows up quite clearly on NASA's graph. A sudden thin yellow spike is showing us a record-breaking number of sunspots on our Sun during the two Christmas days of 1957; what happens after that, however, shows the temperature red line taking off like a rocket and still rising today, while the yellow lines begin to drop off a cliff = temperature rises, sun activity reduces; it's a trend and is still very much increasing today. The last ten years have been the hottest on record according to NASA).

NASA explanation continues. No. The Sun can influence Earth’s climate, but it isn’t responsible for the warming trend we’ve seen over recent decades. The Sun gives us life; it helps keep the planet warm enough for us to survive. We know subtle changes in Earth’s orbit around the Sun drive the comings and goings of the ice ages. But the warming we’ve seen in recent decades is too rapid to be linked to changes in Earth’s orbit and too large to be caused by solar activity.

(Clearly, yes, the warming and the solar drop-off have been extremely rapid and incredibly large; why can they not be linked? The two can be clearly associated with solar activity; that's what the graph shows. Our Star is the giver of life, but NASA fail to add that it is also a destroyer and has a long history of catastrophic destruction here on Earth, and if we are to believe the Bible, it will destroy this planet one more time in the near future more on this later).

On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, 1957, just two months after the Soviet Sputnik 1 launch, another truly great sign from heaven occurred. It was also something never before seen in the history of mankind. According to the Royal Observatory of Belgium, along with other scientific observers, over 48 hours, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, 1957, our star suddenly exploded with a record-busting 503 sunspots; our Sun was suddenly going ballistic . . .

Below is a report by Thomas Cragg from the Mount Wilson and Palomar Observatories in the US, commenting on the 1957 sunspot anomaly.

Our Sun acted wildly and for no apparent reason, which left the world's scientific community at the time confused and worried, resulting in President Eisenhower authorising the opening of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in July 1958. In an effort to bring the world's scientists, including the Soviet Union, together, an International Geophysical Year was launched. The International Geophysical Year, also referred to as the third International Polar Year, was an international scientific project that lasted from 1 July 1957 to 31 December 1958. It marked the end of a long period during the Cold War when the scientific interchange between East and West had been seriously interrupted due to the Cold War. The timing of the IGY was particularly suited for studying the peak of solar cycle 19 and its record number of sunspots.

The following information is quoted from the US Post Office Department’s press release announcing the issuance of the stamp. The 3-cent International Geophysical Year Commemorative Postage Stamp was placed on the First-Day sale on May 31, 1958, in Chicago and was based on a photograph of the sun and depicts an area of "intense solar activity" such as occurs periodically and is among the "phenomena being studied" during the 18 months of the International Geophysical Year, 1957/58.

The United States program in the International Geophysical Year was under the direction of the National Academy of Sciences. Superimposed above the solar disc and the fiery solar prominences emanating from it is a segment of Michelangelo’s [sic] famous fresco, ‘The Creation of Adam.’   Ervine Metzl, the designer of the stamp, explained, ‘In the small confines of a postage stamp we have endeavoured to picture a man’s wonder at the 'unknown' together with his determination to understand it and his need for 'spiritual inspiration' to further his knowledge,' in an effort to find out why.

So, what was going on? Well, it's hard to know; there is not much in the way of information to be found about the unprecedented, spectacular 48-hour Christmas period of 1957. The silence regarding this unprecedented event can be best described as deafening.

I needed more proof—Tree rings, maybe?

I wondered if the tree ring data agrees with the Solar Activity vs Temperature graph above; Oh boy! It's more or less the same!

The graph above is the Briffa tree-ring density vs temperature, also from 1880, and was made by SUV. As you can clearly see, it resembles NASA's Temperature vs Solar Activity Graph almost identically, especially the part after 1957. The tree rings appear to have reacted similarly to solar activity after 1957. Annual tree-ring growth became considerably narrower after 1957, and both latewood density and ring width dropped off a cliff, just as solar activity did on NASA's graph and the Space Weather Prediction Graph at the top; temperature, of course, follows the same path.

Without doubt, there are essentially three things identified around the same historical period:

1957–58

exceptionally strong Solar Cycle 19; record-breaking sunspot clusters climaxing on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
solar activity subsequently falls off a cliff after the record-breaking display;
the tree-ring/solar proxy behaviour shows a corresponding pattern; almost identical graph.
the global temperature record subsequently develops a very different long-term trajectory, rising inexorably.
Is there a common denominator here? Yes . . . 1957, which coincidentally was the year the space race began; more on this later.

NASA's own solar documentation confirms that Cycle 19 was exceptionally strong, with the largest peaks in the historical sunspot record occurring around that period.

I also stumbled on another official NASA graph; see below. Based on the comparison of atmospheric samples contained in ice cores, it shows, according to NASA, the incredible increase in atmospheric CO2 since 1911, just after the Tunguska event, or, as NASA rightly claim the Industrial Revolution, with the year 1957/58 once again showing prominence.

Earthquakes!

Luke 21:11

There will be 'great earthquakes,' famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events 'and great signs from heaven.'

If 1957 delivered one of the great prophecies from Jesus Christ, 'great signs from heaven,' well, 1957 was a record-breaking year on Earth too, and yes, 1957 delivered another prophecy from Jesus Christ. And how! There will be GREAT EARTHQUAKES IN ONE PLACE AND ANOTHER! While our Star was exploding with a record-breaking number of sunspot clusters, the biggest number of major quakes, mag 6 or higher rocked our planet in the same year—coincidence?

Major quakes were actually declining until the 1950s

According to the data I downloaded from USGS IN 2021, during a particular dull COVID—19 day, I discovered that in the Second World War, major quakes (magnitude 6 or higher), for some strange reason, began to decline worldwide. This was totally the opposite after WW1, which ended in 1918 and saw our planet see a steady rise in major quakes (mag 6 or higher).

Jesus had warned us—“There will be great earthquakes in one place and another.” Indeed, there was.

After WWI, major quakes continued to increase, impressively, reaching a peak of 74 in 1934, a new annual record at the time. However, they began steadily decreasing again as WWII approached. Why did the earth’s seismic activity decline so much during the terrible fighting of WWII? Maybe monitoring stopped in many places; I don't know.

Let's have a look anyway. In 1947, just after WWII had ended, just '29 major quakes (mag 6 or higher) were recorded during the entire year, which was by far the lowest yearly total since 27 were recorded way back in 1921. Little did we know, though, something was about to change. . .

By 1949 the yearly total had climbed to the dizzying heights of 44. A year later, in 1950 and without any indication or warning, major quakes (mag 6 or higher) suddenly and inexplicably more than quadrupled from 29 in the year 1947 to an incredible 138.

1957

In 1957, that number had increased to 204 in one year! An incredible number! The average number of major quakes (mag 6 or higher) per year, worldwide in the 1940s was 35—In 1950 that number suddenly rocketed by almost 400%. However, this new annual increase was just the tip of the iceberg—The rise continued; in 1951 the number jumped again from 138 the previous year to 151, and by 1952 the number had spiked again to 181. Was some kind of supernatural phenomenon causing the incredible rise in major quakes around the world?

In "1957" the total number reached a crescendo and smashed through the 200 ceiling, beating all previous records when an astonishing 204 major quakes—The most ever in one year were suddenly recorded! All data is from USGS; the graph was designed by me. See footnote below.

"Great earthquakes in one place and another.” Of course, Jesus had nailed it and the record-busting number of major quakes corresponded with the great signs in heaven! Yes, even more, intriguing was the fact, that the record number of major quakes recorded here on Earth in 1957 coincided exactly with an unprecedented ‘explosion’ of solar activity on our Sun also in 1957 and man launching a satellite into space!

NASA has always claimed solar activity influences seismic and volcanic activity here on Earth—1957 recorded the record number of major quakes but also the record number of confirmed volcanic eruptions. Other a anomalies, prophecies and strange coincidences also happened in 1957, however, never mentioned in connection with Luke 21 and Mark 13 and Matt 24. For example:

If we were to zoom in with a microscope, 1957 stands out as a hinge-point in modern civilisation. It was a pivotal year and delivered many points of no return events. The dawn of the Space Age, for example (Sputnik, 1957).

The launch of Sputnik by the Soviets was a technological marvel, but it also ignited the arms race here and in space; it unknowingly launch Global Warming? 1957 also accelerated Cold War tensions. (wars and rumours of wars and nations rising against nations. From 1957 on, science and technology were increasingly driven by military competition, surveillance, and control. It marked a shift from human-centred exploration to state-driven power projection. If a scientist or research company required funds, they had to be prepared to become puppets for the Military or Government.

The spread of nuclear weapons and energy.

The 1950s saw a huge build-up of nuclear arsenals, and by 1957, both superpowers were testing weapons that could destroy our civilisation many times over. For the first time in human history, our planet could be destroyed by us, the people. The world entered a state of permanent existential risk. Civilian nuclear energy also grew out of this, bringing its own problems (waste, accidents, and dependency).

Chemical and industrial acceleration.

The late 1950s became not just the Atomic Age but the “Chemical Age” really exploded too—pesticides like DDT, plastics, and industrial fertilisers began to spread everywhere. They boosted productivity but also set us on the road to ecological collapse, mass pollution, and poisoned food chains. Rachel Carson’s book Silent Spring (1962) was a direct response to this moment.

Cultural and spiritual dislocation.

By the late 1950s, the West was riding the post-war boom: consumerism, television, advertising, and pop culture were cementing themselves. Traditional structures, family, community, faith—began to fray under the weight of a new globalised, technological lifestyle. In some ways, 1957 marks the acceleration of the “modern experiment” in turning humanity into consumers rather than creators.

The medical front.

Antibiotics, vaccines, and modern medicine had begun to extend lifespans — wonderful in one sense—but at the same time set us on a path of overpopulation, industrial farming, and, ironically, weakened immune systems and the creation of resistant “superbugs.” The overuse of antibiotics opened up a whole new can of worms as biological strains of disease morphed into 'SUPER-BUGS.'

A Global Whisper of Warning.

In early 1957, in the remote hills of Guizhou, China, the H2N2 influenza virus appeared quietly. Within months, the virus, a strain of COVID-19—later named the Asian Flu—had swept across continents. By the year's end, it claimed between one and two million lives globally. It spread not by divine storm or angelic trumpet, but by the marvels of our own making: trains, ships, aeroplanes and autos. In a time of growing confidence in man’s ability to conquer the elements, this virus delivered a divine footnote—In 2019, an invisible but unmistakable voice whispered: “I am still here.”

Artificial Intelligence (AI)

In 1957, CERN was already three years old; 1957 was also when Artificial Intelligence took its first baby steps. In 1956, the Dartmouth Conference (often called the “birthplace of AI”) brought together scientists who boldly declared that “every aspect of learning or any other feature of intelligence can in principle be so precisely described that a machine can be made to simulate it.” By 1957, the first practical AI programs were being built—notably the perceptron (an early neural network) by Frank Rosenblatt.

So, amazingly, the Space Age, the Nuclear Age, the Chemical Age, and the AI Age all cracked open at virtually the same moment in history. Looking back, it feels almost prophetic—as if humanity rushed through a door it didn’t fully understand, and we’ve been stumbling forward ever since.

So, if we take all that together, 1957 wasn’t “the start of the fall” that happened almost 6,000 years ago when Adam took a nibble of the forbidden fruit—but it was a threshold year when science, technology, and power truly began to run ahead of wisdom and restraint.

But let's not rule out Divine intervention; 1957 coincides with another ambitious human space attempt, and God changed the world forever then, too.

What was happening? How could this happen? Did this increase in major earthquake activity have anything to do with nuclear testing, or was it something else—was it really a sign from heaven, another prophecy being fulfilled? “There will be great earthquakes in one place and another.”And of course, “great signs and fearful sights from heaven.” And both in the same year, 1957 and prophesied in the Bible, some 2,000 years ago? And why was this incredible coincidence never reported by the experts?

Before I finish this chapter, I want to remind you of a Bible story, something that happened around 4,300 years ago. The time of the Tower of Babel. A great warrior called Nimrod decided in his own way to reach space. (heaven back then).

Genesis:11

Now the whole world had one language and a common speech. 2 As people moved eastward, they found a plain in Shinar and settled there. 3 They said to each other, “Come, let’s make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They used brick instead of stone, and tar for mortar. 4 Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves; otherwise we will be scattered over the face of the whole earth.” 5 But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower the people were building. 6 The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. 7 Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other.” 8 So the Lord scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city. 9 That is why it was called Babel—because there the Lord confused the language of the whole world. From there the Lord scattered them over the face of the whole earth.

Something very similar to Nimrod and his tower happened in 1957. But this time we actually did reach the Heavens . . . Did God decide to pull the plug once and for all?

Footnote: USGS DATA

The USGS Survey Website, the home of global earthquake history, later altered its official data for that year, 1957. They wiped out 30 major quakes from the 1957 total; instead of 1957 being recorded as the record-breaking year for major quakes, it became just an average year, covering up the sheer scale of the anomaly. I did write to them.

I have been researching quakes at USGS since 2014—Historical earthquake data on their website is constantly being altered, and that's official; they admit doing it—

According to USGS, this is because they are continuously updating earthquake data and information to ensure that it is accurate and up-to-date. However. Much of the data they are altering is from as far back as 1900 and as recent as the 1970s; how can they find accurate and up-to-date information from events which happened more than 100 years ago?

They go on to say that updates to earthquakes occur as more data become available for analysis and more time-intensive analysis is performed. Additional updates are possible in the standard procedure of assembling a final earthquake catalogue.

They also add earthquakes, and sometimes quakes are 'removed' from the listing; they say these are false alarms that can occur when relying on an automated system that is trying to get the data out as quickly as possible.

And what about the hundreds of quakes which have been added? (Where did they come from?) Yes, hundreds have been added.

After a tip-off from Prophecy Watchers, I decided to check the data once more. Yes, they had changed the data again, this time from 2019. I found that hundreds of major quakes have been added (and many taken away) from 1900 to 1976. So, once again I wrote to USGS; this time I did receive a reply. . .

Hello, the USGS is continuously updating earthquake data and information to ensure that it is accurate and up-to-date.

Updates to earthquakes occur as more data become available for analysis and more time-intensive analysis is performed. Additional updates are possible as part of the standard procedure of assembling a final earthquake catalogue.

Earthquakes are also sometimes removed from the listing, but these are false alarms that can occur when relying on an automated system that is trying to get the data out as quickly as possible.
