"Right now, Klyuchevskaya Sopka is erupting," the Kamchatka branch of the Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences said
MOSCOW, July 30. /TASS/. The Klyuchevskaya Sopka volcano is erupting in Kamchatka as a result of the largest earthquake since 1952, the Kamchatka branch of the Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences has said on its Telegram channel.
"Right now, Klyuchevskaya Sopka is erupting," reads the post accompanying a photograph of the volcano’s eruption.
Meanwhile, this afternoon, a Magnitude 6.4 - 143 km ESE of Severo-Kuril’sk, Russia, became the 20th major quake (mag 6 or higher) to be recorded in the last 10 days. See USGS map below.
The quake was once again very shallow, causing the most damage. 128 large to very large aftershocks have continued to rock the area since the massive magnitude 8.8 last night. See the USGS Map below
