Jesus told us, only God knows when the end will come.
As we discovered in the last chapter, wars, rumours of wars, pestilence, poverty and major quakes increased at the beginning of 1914 and we have now firmly established these events were unknown on a global-scale up until 1914 and in Matt 24, Luke 21 and Mark 13 prophecies, Jesus went out of His way to warn our generation of what to watch out for-but, are there other clues in the Bible which links Jesus and 1914? Let's just remember something very important, however, Jesus Himself wouldn't give a date for when these things would happen, but-He gave us clues, big ones, Matt 24:32:
“Now learn this illustration from the fig tree: Just as soon as its young branch grows tender and sprouts its leaves, you know that summer is near.
And of course, He did warn us to be on guard... stay awake and keep looking for the signs. Remember, Jesus said: "Only God knows when the end will come."
The Four Horses Of The Apocalypse is a prime example because the true date has long remained a mystery, while I myself can give no fixed date, there are certain clues as to when the four horses may have been released. I believe the Bible may hint they were released by Jesus Himself just before the start of WWI. In the Bible we first hear about the Four Horses Of The Apocalypse clearly in Rev 6:1-2 describing a white horse bearing a man dressed in white, a crown on His head and holding a bow and this man is ordered to overcome and conquer, this man is quite clearly Jesus: We know from the Bible, in Revelation 6:1-8 Jesus opens one of the seven seals releasing four horsemen, three of whom bring destruction to the whole world, the first horse, however, is white, and its rider is, some say, a glorious, newly crowned king, this is King Jesus who has begun ruling his new kingdom in heaven, but others believe the white horse rider to be the antichrist?
The First Seal: The White Horse
1 Then I watched as the Lamb opened one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures say in a thunderous voice, “Come!”
2 So I looked and saw a white horse, and its rider held a bow. And he was given a crown, and he rode out to overcome and conquer.
Many Bible scholars and historians have a problem believing the rider of the white horse is Jesus but it clearly is Him, let's read further, toward the end of the Book Of Revelation-Rev 19:11:
The Rider on the White Horse
11 Then I saw heaven standing open, and there before me was a white horse. And its rider is called Faithful and True. With righteousness He judges and wages war (with Satan and his rebel angels).
Faithful and true and with righteousness can only refer to Jesus!-Now, Jesus clearly warned His disciples and this generation of the beginning of earth's birth pains, or pangs of distress (the release of the four horse of the Apocalypse) which undoubtably began in 1914 because of the dramatic increase in the global situation-Jesus's prophecies of birth pains had never occurred on such a huge a global scale before! Now, look who Jesus led out with him in Rev 6: 3-8, as if confirmation of the time!
3 When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, “Come!”4 Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make people kill each other. To him was given a large sword.
A fiery red horse! Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make people kill each other. Wars and rumours of wars:
5 When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. 6 Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, “Two pounds of wheat for a day’s wages, and six pounds of barley for a day’s wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!”
A black horse! I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. The black horse is a reference to famine and food shortages during the end times and the huge disparity between the rich and the poor:
7 When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Come!” 8 I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth:
And finally the pale horse. I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades (the grave) was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.
The Tunguska Event
This is a theory of mine I have had for a few years now, maybe a "mad theory" at that but I would love to share it with you. I have no evidence whatsoever to base my theory on fact, just a gut instinct, however, the devil is in the detail-or so they say! And the time frame fits perfectly. It would now be reasonable to assume the Four Horses Of The Apocalypse were released somewhere before 1914 as we have determined earlier in this chapter.
According to Revelation 12: 8 Satan and his angels were thrown down to Earth after losing the war in heaven:
The War in Heaven
7 Then a war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. 8But the dragon was not strong enough, and no longer was any place found in heaven for him and his angels. 9And the great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.…
If I may be so bowled I would like to offer my theory... If some thing as powerful as the devil, Satan, was thrown down to Earth you would expect he would announce himself with a large"BANG!" Especially, under the circumstances of his arrival. You could be forgiven if one was to expect some kind of fanfare or dramatic loud entrance might accompany his arrival?
According to Wikipedia, the Tunguska event was a massive ~"12 megaton explosion" that occurred near the Podkamennaya Tunguska River in Yeniseysk Governorate (now Krasnoyarsk Krai), Russia, on the morning of June 30, 1908. The explosion over the sparsely populated Eastern Siberian Taiga flattened almost a hundred million trees over an area of 2,150 km2 (830 sq mi) of forest.
The explosion is generally attributed to a meteor airburst: the atmospheric explosion of a stony meteoroid about 50–60 metres (160–200 feet) in size. The meteoroid approached from the east-southeast, and likely with a relatively high speed of about 27 km/s. It is classified as an impact event, even though "no impact crater" has been found and "no meteor fragments." The object is thought to have disintegrated at an altitude of 5 to 10 kilometres (3 to 6 miles) rather than to have hit the surface of the Earth. The Tunguska event is the "largest impact event on Earth in recorded history." An explosion of this magnitude would be capable of destroying a large metropolitan area.
There are quite a few problems with the meteor theory!
On 30 June 1908, at around 07:17 local time, Evenki natives and Russian settlers in the hills north-west of Lake Baikal south-east Siberia, observed a column of bluish light, brighter than the Sun, the bright light was moving across the sky very fast, reported to be about 27 kilometres per second. About ten minutes later, a blinding flash with a massive explosion was followed by a sound similar to artillery fire. (why would it take ten minutes for a comet or meteor to reach the ground travelling so fast? It wouldn't!)
The artillery sounds were accompanied by a shock wave that knocked people off their feet and broke windows "hundreds of kilometres away." The explosion registered at seismic stations across Eurasia and airwaves from the blast was detected in Germany, Denmark, Croatia, the UK, and as far away as "Jakarta and Washington DC. It is estimated that, in some places, the resulting shock wave was equivalent to an earthquake measuring 7.0 on the Richter magnitude scale.
Over the next few days, night skies in Asia and Europe were aglow, with contemporaneous reports of photographs being successfully taken at midnight in both Sweden and Scotland. Hundreds of eyewitnesses speak of columns of fire and smoke, which is similar to how Jehovah guided His people out of Egypt as told in Exodus. Other witnesses claim "two columns of fire emanated from near the Tunguska Body after it approached the ground," the two columns of clouds and smoke gave off rainbow-like bands of light (electra), remarkably similar to the description of an angelic manifestation mentioned in the bible, in A Revelation To John, 10:1.
Other witnesses claim they saw a ufo or a cylindrical object. If this Tunguska event was the once all-powerful fallen angel, the Devil, it would need a mighty angel to throw him down. The explosion over the sparsely populated Eastern Siberian Taiga flattened 2,000 square kilometres (770 square miles) of the forest, yet the enormous blast, thought to be the biggest ever on our planet caused no known human casualties.
If the devil was thrown down to Earth after the war in heaven as is claimed in Revelation, 12:9, and the Four Horsemen were also released around the same time, well, there must be evidence here on Earth, the devil would surely not come here unannounced and if he was thrown down here, he must have caused some fireworks wouldn't you think? After all, he is said to be roaming the earth like a roaring lion, he surely wouldn't make an entrance as a shrinking violet? Just six years later the world unexpectedly changed forever with the outbreak of WWI!
Many Bible scholars claim Satan was thrown down to earth millions of years ago resulting in the death of the dinosaurs, Thomas Horn the international recognised best selling author, lecturer and radio host has recently added to this theory but you see, this is simply not true, Satan was still allowed in heaven back in the days of Job 2:1 less than 2,000 years before the birth of Christ.
1 On another day the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, (in Heaven) and Satan also came with them to present himself before Him. 2“Where have you come from?” said the LORD to Satan. “From roaming through the earth,” he replied, “and walking back and forth in it.”
Far from being expelled from Heaven, Satan decided to present himself before God along with the other sons of God, (angels), he could have been doing that just over a hundred years ago, we don't know for sure..
Daniel's link to 1914
Death has dominated man since the beginning of time but only increased on a global scale after 1914, whether due to war, famine, or plague. But there is more, much more, Bible chronology indicating 1914 was a pivotal year in Bible prophecy. The Watchtower Organisation, the Jehovah's Witnesses believes the prophet Daniel points the way to 1914 too. According to the Jehovah's Witness Organisation, God began His preparation to replace all other governments here on Earth, in 1914... God's Kingdom is what we all pray for in the Lord's Prayer, ("Thy Kingdom Come"). They, Jehovah's Witnesses believe this is shown by a prophecy recorded in chapter 4 of the Bible book of Daniel. According to the 'JWs, 607 BCE marked the beginning of what the Bible claims as the seven times or the period when God’s rulership would be interrupted. At the end of the seven times, God would install a new ruler to represent Him, this time, someone in heaven, His beloved son, Jesus.
A clash of dates!
More than 2,500 years ago God was so disgusted with the behaviour of his chosen people the Jews, he decided to punish them after he had warned them many many times about their bad and immoral behaviour. Because of the Israelites’ disobedience, God allowed them to be conquered by the Babylonians. However, this is where the story gets fuzzy. The Jehovah's Witnesses believe this happened back in the year 607 BCE. Meanwhile, other historians and scholars believe the actual date Jerusalem fell was twenty-years later in 587 BCE or even thirty-years later. According to the Encyclopaedia Britannica, 1990 edition, Volume 1, Page 771, the first deportation followed the destruction of Jerusalem by King Nebuchadnezzar in 586/7 BCE: if so, the Jews were held in Babylonian captivity for forty-eight years. However, the Jehovah's Witnesses refer to a text from Jeremiah, 29:10 which claims the Jews were held for 70 years:
10 This is what the Lord says: "When 70 years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfil my good promise to bring you back to this place." (Jerusalem).
Again in Jeremiah 25:11 we read:
And all this land (Israel) will be reduced to ruins and will become an object of horror, and serviette king of Babylon for 70 years.
The scholars and historians who claim the 586 BCE date is correct are based primarily on what is known as "Ptolemy’s Canon," an account which is considered to be prepared primarily for astronomical, not historical, purposes. In his book, The Mysterious Numbers of the Hebrew Kings, Professor E. R. Thiele writes: Ptolemy’s canon was prepared primarily for astronomical, not historical, purposes. It did not pretend to give a complete list of all the rulers of either Babylon or Persia, nor the exact month or day of the beginning of their reigns, but it was a device which made possible the correct allocation into a broad chronological scheme of certain astronomical data which were then available. Kings whose reigns were less than a year and which did not embrace the New Year's Day were not mentioned." So the very purpose of the Canon makes absolute dating by means of it impossible. There is no way to be sure that Ptolemy was correct in assigning a certain number of years to various kings. For example, while Ptolemy credits Evil-merodach with only two years of rule, Polyhistor assigns him twelve years. Then, too, one cannot be certain that just five kings ruled during this period. At Borsippa, for instance, were found names of a number of Babylonian kings that do not appear elsewhere.
So how does Daniel's famous prophecy unfold and how does it arrive at 1914?
We know the seven times started in 607 BC or 587 BC, but the big question now is: When did the seven times end? If we can answer that question, we can perhaps once again arrive at Jesus's prophetic warnings of 1914! During his earthly ministry, Jesus indicated that the seven times had not yet ended, (the Romans still hadn't sacked Jerusalem, that happened in 70 AD after Jesus's death, this scattered the Jews from Israel and they didn't return again until 1948 almost 1850 years later). so the "seven times" must be a very long period of time. The seven times started hundreds of years before Jesus came to earth in 607 B.C.E according to the Jehovah's Witnesses, or 587 BC if we are to believe the Ptolemy’s Canon and the historians and scholars.
King Nebuchadnezzar and his strange dream about the "seven times!"
So how did Bible scholars come to believe that the seven times would end in the year 1914, or twenty years later, depending on your beliefs? In Chapter 4 of Daniel: King Nebuchadnezzar the mighty king of Babylon had a disturbing dream about a giant tree. Daniel a captured Jewish aristocrat had found favour with God and was asked by the King to explain the dream. Daniel concluded the great tree represented King Nebuchadnezzar himself. The gigantic tree was figuratively ‘ hopped (felled) down in the dream by God himself but God did not kill the tree, meaning, Nebuchadnezzar reign as king would be cut short temperately for seven years.
Months later, King Nebuchadnezzar temporarily lost his sanity and kingship for a period of seven years when he lived in madness, as a bull and grazing on grass, which can be found in Daniel 4:25. When God restored his sanity, Nebuchadnezzar regained his throne allowing God's prophecy to come true. But, as in many Bible prophecies, the dream had a double meaning. The greater, deeper translation of the Daniel chapter 4 prophecy is an actual prophecy from God, Himself- The immense tree in Nebuchadnezzar's dream symbolises God’s rulership too and the felling of the tree represented not just an interruption in Nebuchadnezzar’s kingship, which was later restored by God after 7 times, but, the 7 times also represented as an interruption in God’s rulership for mankind.
When Nebuchadnezzar destroyed Jerusalem, which God allowed as a punishment to the Jews for their terrible behaviour, the kings of Israel were actually representatives of God himself up to the fall of Jerusalem. The seven times represented the period during which God allowed the nations to rule over the earth without interference from God Himself. So the “seven times” which God allowed without interference from any kingdom began on October 1st 607 BCE when, according to Bible chronology, Jerusalem was destroyed by the Babylonians.
How Long Are The Seven Times?
The “seven times” of Jehovah's absence could not merely be seen as the seven years as is the case in Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, no, Jesus indicated the answer when he said that “Jerusalem, God's earthly throne, would be trampled on by the nations until the appointed times of the nations are fulfilled, which can be found in Luke 21:24. The appointed times of the nations, began in 607 BCE or 587 BC, were still underway even when Jesus was on the earth and many many years after too. As ever we can find the answer in the Bible to help us to determine the length of those prophetic, seven times. Revelation 12:6, reveals:
A woman is fed and protected for a time, times and a half of a time which was termed to be 1,260 days.
(The woman represents Old Testament Israel and New Testament Christians who God had dressed in honour and splendour (Ezekiel 16) Applying the Biblical prophetic rule “a day for a year,” the 1,260 days would, therefore, represent 1,260 years.
Now back to Revelation 6: 14:
But the two wings of the great eagle were given to the woman so that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is to be fed for a time and times and half a time away from the face of the serpent.
Time times and half a time is half of 7 times. Time is 360 days = 360 years, times are 720 days-2x time = 720 years and half a time is 180 days = 180 years, add them together = 1260 years, so if 3.1/2 times is 1260 years, the 7 times in God's prophecy in Nebuchadnezzar must be 2,520 years-Therefore, the “seven times, mentioned in Daniel 4” which would then be 2,520 years, from 607 B.C.E would end in 1914., Numbers 14:34; Ezekiel 4:6.
An easy cross-reference is adding 606 years BC and 1,914 years AD, we get 2,520 years. If we take 2,520 away from 1914 we arrive at the year 606 BCE The Common Era started at year 1, not year zero so the actual year is 607, BCE
Many people have compared 2020 and 2021 to the beginning of the seven year tribulation period prophesied in the Bible. Well, let me tell you, if we are to believeJesus's warnings, it’s not even close. What has happened since January 2020, Covid-19, lockdowns, job losses, evictions and social unrest is terrible but can be compared to a walk in the park when you consider what horrors soldiers had to undergo in WWI and the hellfire of WWII-but even those events are nothing compared to what is to come during the 7 year tribulation period, most of us in the West can’t imagine what war is really like, we have been very lucky, almost all of us alive today missed WWII and there is no one alive who can remember WWI, our generation, have had it remarkably easy. Around 4,000 years ago the world was so corrupt and evil Jehovah had to destroy it with the flood but even that can’t compare to what is prophesied for the last generation (our generation)?.
The Abomination of Desolation
Matt 24:21 For at that time there will be great tribulation, unmatched from the beginning of the world until now, and never to be seen again. 22 If those days had not been cut short, nobody would be saved. But for the sake of the elect, those days will be cut short.
